Publicity Tip #83 ~
Depending on how long you’ve been in the book/author publicity game you will either have a good sized list of helpful publicity sites (that don’t cost an arm and a leg) or a very small one. Regardless of the length of your current list one of the best blogs I’ve discovered online that helps promote writers is The Story Reading Ape (Chris).
What’s so special about this book/author blog?
1st off, the publicity there is FREE.
2nd, Chris has a wide following of readers and authors (7300 at the moment) for his blog as well as on his extended social media sites – so whatever you submit for consideration will be seen.
3rd, Chris encourages quality guest posts & submissions (Author Articles & Book Promotions:Free, Discounted, New, or Debut – see requirements first).
4th, if you follow Chris you will learn about other book blogging or author sites that are looking for guest content too – and that’s huge (especially if your DIYing your own virtual book tour).
The absolute resourcefulness of The Story Reading Ape’s site cannot be overlooked. So check out Chris’ blog and make sure you qualify before you send him a submission… but even if you don’t qualify (it’s basically a PG rated site) you can still follow him and learn about other opportunities out in the blogosphere!

Chris is great. He recently featured me as a Guest Author on his site and was very generous with his time and advice. Definitely worth checking out!

I too was given a spotlight on his blog last November for the release of my Debut novel. Lately though I’ve been finding his re-blogged posts extremely helpful for locating other like-minded book/author bloggers 🙂 He provides an awesome service.
