THE WRITERLY RANT

The Writerly Rant should run between 250-400 words in length. This opportunity is an outlet to state an opinion on a matter (personal, local, or global) using a persuasive writing style. This will be a literary rant. Please use at least a couple of the following devices (and others not here listed) to help frame the body of your content – rhetorical questioning, figurative language, parallel framing of ideas, compare/contrast, examples/fact to corroborate your opinion, etc.

Keep in mind that your audience will be mainly educated adults with some post-secondary courses, a completed diploma, and/or degree. They will be a mix of readers and writers looking for a professional outlet regarding books and the book making process. That being said, no one likes it when a professional sanitary engineer picks through your garbage and leaves items behind that should have been taken in the first place.

POETRY

Poetry to be considered for publication on this site should be between 3-30 lines. Depending on the lengths of the poems submitted, multiple works may be published as long as they add up to 30 lines.

Most poetic styles will be accepted for consideration. However, if you work in a unique style please include a synopsis or explanatory breakdown of your poetry to be posted along with your creative work. If you choose to post regularly, these breakdowns will be requested less frequently as readers become familiar with your personal style.

Content eligible for submission does not include graphic details like extreme gore, explicit sexuality, excessive violence or have other similar properties contained therein.

FLASH FICTION

The official lines are blurred with this particular writing genre when it comes to required length for consideration. With Infinite Pathways it is requested that pieces range between 200-500 words in order to be considered for publication on the site.

FICTION EXCERPTS

A great way to create interest in your work as an author is to provide excerpts of your work for potential fans to read. Maybe you write long short stories, novella’s, or novels and you have the perfect piece to grab attention and add some spice to a reader’s repertoire – do it.

NOTABLES

Notables are quotable moments in an author’s life. They are snip-its of thought that make complete sense to writers and authors. Notables can be as short as a sentence or as long as a paragraph. If you have a favourite author notable you’d like to share or if you would like to share your own insight as a writer or author please query for consideration and include a link either to your author website or author face book page.
