Desert Travels

An excerpt from the soon-to-be released science fiction novel The Chronicles of Xannia: Time’s Tempest, written by M.J. Moores.

Poem by Merick

Blazing suns align with bitter winds

            to tire petrified bones;

                        Trudging, trudging, trudging

                                    along.

Daylight sleeps,

            the Evil word scars cracked skin

                        scraping away the man

                                    no longer walking alone.

Deep restlessness grinds the soul

            coarse as the sands of time;

                        Drifting, blowing, falling

                                    as oblivion trudges on.
