As a writer and editor, this idea rings damn true.
In fact, if we are able to trick ourselves into recognizing moments in
our writing, like the over-use of a simple word,
then our self-editing will have come a long way and our
professional editors wouldn’t need to do for
us what we are capable of doing for ourselves.
