For me, this quote resonates with the idea that we all have to start somewhere when we write.
Debates, philosophical, and not so philosophical conversations look at how
writers begin writing: do you start with a character? the plot? a setting
of importance? a quote or bit of inspirational dialogue?
numbers on the page….?
Analyzing how and why we can or will put pen to page or
fingers to keys is all fine and good for talking about the work we
do – but when you’re alone with your thoughts and inviting inspiration in,
what does it really matter how we begin as long as we do? A writer writes…
Right?
