What’s the trap?
Getting stuck in a rut…
Writing the same story or character
over and over and over
again
just because it “sells” or
it’s “what my fans want” or
“it’s all I’ve ever known.”
As writers we need to give ourselves permission
to try new ideas,
genres,
concepts,
plots…
otherwise our creativity and our craft suffers.
Just because you try something new
doesn’t mean that your fans won’t like it too,
nor does it mean you have to tell them about it…
You can always release new ideas under a psudenom
or as yourself
but with a different publisher or
on a different platform.
You just might surprise yourself
and
bring a new take to your standard bread and butter.
